still waiting for something to happen with our house, After a flurry of activity to remove everything and then the demolition of the upstairs rooms we now seem to be in a waiting pattern, to be expected I guess. We are aware that this will be a long process, this coming Friday will be one month since the night of the fire.
So...baby bunnies. These babies were playing just outside the window of the health club pool where I was exercising. It was late dusk and the lights were on inside the pool so I think the bunnies could not see anything but a dark wall, they were actually pressed up against the window. I was not able to get the shot of the babies nursing with their monter, that would have been great, but I was able to get these pics.

it's been a slow week for house restoration, but we go by several times a day to pick gardenias to take back to our temp house and check on kitty. The gardenias are the most prolific we have EVER seen them, the bush is absolutely full and the yard is full of fragrance.

We are waiting for the framing to come for the roof...watching the weather so that once the roof is removed they will have time to cover before the next rain. Even if we have to delay our house, we desperately need rain, things are already looking parched and even more threatening, there is a large, still not contained fire burning in the Pocosin Refuge east of us. The smoke here looks like a medium to dense fog, not healthy for venturing outside.
Here is the link to the local paper's article on the fire, which is currently the largest active wildfire in the United States. The fire started with a lightning strike June 1 in Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge.

Even though the picture, taken yesterday of the second floor of our house looks rather shocking, we are not unduly stressed. This picture shows the work being done to remove all the walls, taking everything down to the studs in order to repair and remove all traces of burn and smoke. In the end our house will be cleaner, better, brighter, have a new roof, all interiors replaced and/or repainted. We also plan to do lots of upgrading, new kitchen, new bathroom upstairs and more.
